Sally White completes the New York City Marathon!!

Last Sunday, November 2nd, Sally White completed her first marathon….on a cold and very windy day in New York City. 'Spectacular views over the Verrazano bridge…an amazing way to start a marathon'! Thank you Sally for supporting our work and we hear that you may be targeting another marathon quite soon!

PHE issues briefing note on link between Emotional Wellbeing and Attainment

Public Health England (PHE) have just realeased a briefing paper, which highlights the strong link between health and emotional wellbeing… and academic attainment.
The paper also highlights the value of taking a whole school approach and encourages schools and colleges to promote health and wellbeing as part of their ethos and culture…. emphasising the important potential to improve educational outcomes.

Sallly White is running the New York City Marathon on Sunday November 2nd in support of the Trust and  wearing this running shirt, which has been designed specifically for the event!

James Lovick takes on the Rickshaw Run!

James Lovick, who is Matthew's cousin, is taking on an amazing challenge in January 2015 - The Rickshaw Run.
This is a 2,500 km Indian adventure from Jaisalmer to Cochin….from north to south in just over two weeks! Is this possible?
He is joined by three friends…Ben, Darren and Keith and their vehicle will be a 7hp Rickshaw, which is currently being acquired!
They are very kindly raising fund for the Trust. Good luck boys!

Premier League tackling Mental Health

The Premier League is taking the mental health of its young men, who play the game at the highest level, increasingly seriously. They are being supported by IfUCareShare, and its founder, Dean Smith (see photo) helps young players to talk about how they are feeling and start to recognise the signs of anxiety and depression and ask for help when they need it.
The Matthew Elvidge Trust works closely with IfUCareShare and you can read more about their amazing work with all the Premier League academies in this recent BBC Article.
